In our description database there are 3 solutions for performing hard reset for Acer Iconia Tab A501.

Choose the first method and follow the steps to perform a hard reset. If the first solution does not work, try the next method.

Please remember! Hard reset will delete any and all data your device contains; like pictures, contacts, messages, apps etc. Everything. Acer Iconia Tab A501 device will be brought back to the same configuration as that of a brand new device.

Instruction #1


1. Heyoo. First, turn off the tablet by holding the Power button.


2. Now press and hold the Volume Up button.


3. Next, press the Power button for a few moments while still holding Volume Up.


4. Feel free to release the Power key as soon as you feel the tablet vibrate.
5. Next, press the Home button to see Recovery Mode menu.
6. Now press Volume Down to choose "Wipe data/factory reset". Then press the Power button to confirm the operation.


7. Be so kind as to select "Yes--delete all user data". Use Volume Down button to scroll and Power key to select.
8. Select "Reboot system now".

Instruction #2


1. First, press the Power button to turn the display on.


2. Go to Settings > Privacy.
3. Now tap Factory data reset.
4. Next, choose Reset device and select Erase everything.
5. Well done!

Instruction #3


1. For starers, turn off the device.


2. Now that it is off, press and hold the Volume Up button.


3. Keep holding the Volume Up & press the Power button for a few seconds.


4. Release held keys when the tablet vibrates.
5. Be ready to quickly work the Screen Lock Switch as soon as the tablet vibrates (keep holding the Volume button!).
