Recovery, in Android, refers to the bootable partition, in which the recovery console is installed.
It contains tools to help repair your installations as well as install official OS updates by using a combination of key presses or instructions from a command line sometimes.

1. So let's begin from making sure your phone is turned OFF, if it's not please hold down power button to do that.
2. Next step is very important, press and hold Volume Down + Power button + Home button.
3. Wait untill you will see LG logo and release the buttons.
4. After few seconds you should see a Hard reset menu.
5. Congratulations you are in recovery mode, now if you want to scroll highlighted area just use your volume buttons and to confirm use power button.
