What is a Soft Reset and what the Soft Reset does? The Soft Reset is the easiest reset to perform on a mobile phone.
To Soft Reset a phone is to simply power cycle the device, to power it off and then to power it back on.
The soft reset can actually solve many simple problems on mobile phones, especially when the phone has been on for a long period of time and has not been power cycled for a while.
1. The soft reset process begins from unlocking your screen and holding down your power button.
2. Then you should see a menu like this on your screen.
3. Now tap on the Reboot or Restart option to end the entire process.
4. This is it. Soft reset is really easy to do so remember to do it once in a while so your phone won't lag so much.
A Soft Reset (or Forced Restart) differs from a Hard Reset (or Factory Restore) in that it doesn’t delete any essential data from the smartphone or tablet but you may lose some RAM or temporary data, for example any unsaved game progress or the page you were viewing on a website.
A Hard Reset on the other hand would only be required when you want to wipe all data from the device, starting it over.
